New Blog Introducing Kurdish Literature to the World

Kurdish Bookshelf is the latest blog that tries to introduce Kurdish literature, language and culture to the world.

Kurdish literature has a lot to offer to the world; the only problem has been that Kurdish literature has not attracted scholars from around the world to study and translate it (for a variety of geopolitical, cultural, social, etc. etc. reasons that are not the point here), because of the language barrier of course, and because we Kurds have not been actively speaking for ourselves, promoting Kurdish language, literature and culture.

"If the world has failed to notice Kurdish literature because the world does not speak Kurdish," Kurdish Bookshelf writes, "let us make it take notice by translating it, or writing about it, in a language that most of the world understands. And maybe then we won’t have to worry about it anymore, because the world will want to learn more about it even if that means it will need to learn the Kurdish language to explore Kurdish literature."

Kurdistan Youth It is Time to Raise Your Voices!

Come on guys it is now time to raise your voices! Over the past few years thousands of young Kurds have gone abroad to pursue their graduate studies mostly in English speaking countries, UK, Australia, and the USA. You all speak good English and I am sure most of you have good writing abilities. Why not use your writing abilities? what is better than putting your skills and talent to use for your country, nation, people's cause? Launching a blog in English language will help introduce Kurds and Kurdistan to the world better.

The whole world was kept in the dark under Saddam Hussein behind a media blackout while Kurds were being massacred. Today, however, you have the tools readily available and at no cost. all it takes is some dedication, will and motivation. Your blog can be about anything. from Kurdish politics, to economy, culture, to security, tourism, or can be a personal blog where you keep and share your diaries, memories with the world.

Launch a blog and join this blog as a member to be connected to other bloggers and to attract visitors.

Facebook Page underway!

I am working on a Facebook page for the Kurdistan English Blogs to promote the blog and by extension all the member blogs. I am also planning to using the Facebook page to inspire more talented Kurdish people to start their own blogs in English and start writing about Kurdistan and the Kurdish world.

Let's Blog!

Let's Blog is a campaign launched by Kurdistan English Blogs aimed at inspiring young and talented Kurds to start their own blogs and write about Kurds and Kurdistan whatever their subjects may be; politics, economy, business, culture, literature, journalism, analysis, opinion, personal, travel diary. It is also aimed at bringing together current bloggers in one place, to promote their blogs, and promote each other.

Hopefully, this will be a successful attempt at creating this platform which will serve as a reference for all the English language bloggers who write about Kurdistan in one place so as to give readers the opportunity to easily find these bloggers in one place.
